Our humble roots trace back to the winter of 2011. It was the first time I saw a large flocked Christmas tree in the lobby of a downtown hotel. Decked with comforting white lights and snow-themed décor, it took me back to treasured childhood memories. Intrigued, I began looking for ways to replicate the effect at home. To my surprise, I found no stores, no online information—nothing about getting flocking at home. So, I decided to create my own. That’s when our first product, SnoFlock, was born. We officially launched SnoFlock in our little eBay store in 2014, and from there, it became a bit of an at-home sensation. We gained instant popularity with DIY enthusiasts and bloggers for its wondrous appeal: you simply shake this powder from a sifter, spray it onto your tree with water, and presto—snow-flocked tips and branches. Ever since SnoFlock, we’ve become increasingly tied to the nostalgia of Christmas. In 2015, we decided to name the company Season’s Reflection, a name inspired by my efforts to reflect the warmth of past seasons. Thus, we became increasingly focused on the little things that brought the charm of yesteryear back to the holidays. By 2016, our family had had enough of harsh white LED Christmas lights. They hurt the eyes and were far too yellow or pink—more akin to a runway strip than charming Christmas lights. That’s when we decided to bring back the vintage glow! Starting with extensive research into LED technology, we soon realized that achieving pure warm LED light is no simple feat. It requires a perfect harmony of elements, such as phosphor and blue light emissions, to create a perfectly balanced, rich, warm glow. So, we created our very own LED, which became the hallmark for our new mini light strings. In late 2018, we began working on making our LEDs economical enough for mini light strings and bulbs. It took years of discussions with manufacturers and suppliers to convey the vision we were after: warm, rich colors in classic, traditional light strings. We wanted that vintage glow. It wasn’t until 2021 that we finally found a company that understood our vision. With their expertise in manufacturing, they helped us finalize our line of Yule Multi and VintaClear LED Christmas lights. When we first wired up a string with all the elements and plugged them in, we knew we had captured the Vintage Glow. It was VintaGlo. Officially launched in the fall of 2023, VintaGlo is the newest member of the Season’s Reflection Co. family. We continue to seek out more yesteryear charms and Christmas delights to revive with true impressions of their former best selves. (Internally, we coined this mission: improve perfection, but without notice.) The future holds many more reflections. Focusing on redefining the flocking industry, Seasons Reflection pioneered SnoFlock. An all-in-one flocking powder designed for at-home use, NO SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED. 2018 Snoing Strong. By 2018, SnoFlock became the most popular at home snow flocking powder in the world. Seen on shows such as HGTV, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and used in decor in the Mall of America, Westfield, and others around the world.* We introduced new accessories for SnoFlock such as SnoShimmer and SnoGlue, further elevating the Sno Experience. *SnoFlock is not sponsored nor endorsed by these platforms, nor was SnoFlock used in these spaces for commercial exposure. Glo enters the room. 2019 2019 was a pivotal year for Seasons Reflection. 1st. SnoFlock was redesigned in anticipation for its first retail launch in Christmas 2020, along with its sister products SnoShimmer & SnoGlue. 2nd. This was the year when we finally had enough of warm white LED's. All of our decor had this cold, dull, and lifeless yellow tint because of the low quality LED's used in traditional lighting sets. No matter the budget or the brand, we found no LED sets even remotely close to the true soft warmth of incandescent lights. So we decided to make our own. 2020 A Glo up during a stay inside. In early 2020, things were looking up! But soon the world turned. World wide shortages and delays forced us to abandon our retail ambitions. However, online sales stayed strong due to the at-home decorating culture explosion crafted from the new era. Given the new at-home environment, we spent countless hours working on Vintaglo. We began drafting a brand identity using one of our favorite vintage lighting brands: Royalites. After speaking with multiple factories and consulting with engineers, it was soon apparent why a Christmas product like Vintaglo never existed to begin with. Quality LED's are not cheap nor easy to find. Early on, we enlisted the help of a opto-lighting engineer to help us formulate the perfect LED. Boy was this a challenge. By the time we had reached our first prototype, our diodes had a quoted production price of over 20 cents for a single diode. Completely unviable for any production sets. Introducing a new member of the family. 2023 For one reason or another, we decided to take the crazy step and fully embrace Vintaglo development in early 2021. Working with multiple factories, engineers, chemists, and purchasing agents. We were able to optimize our LED to maintain a beautiful warm glow just like the incandescent sets we all love—but make them viable enough for use in string lights. The result? GloWarm LED's by Vintaglo are the highest rendering-quality Christmas light sets on the market. In fact, the light cast from our sets reaches qualities that rival some studio lighting equipment! This is what makes Vintaglo different. It's not just the color of our sets, the quality of the light cast from our sets was of upmost importance. And this is where we began contemplating a new brand direction. It finally happened. 2024 Vintaglo had a slow start. But in 2024 we began making moves to finally get into a more Christmassy mood by acquiring the name "MERRY CO." With so many products in our pipeline, from fragrances to greenery, we noticed we always leaned into traditional heirloom quality styles, notes and inspirations. And so, Merry Co. was born. Discouraged by the slow start with Vintaglo, we began trying to find people who share the same gripes as we do. And slowly, the word began to spread. But it wasn't until a disenfranchised Christmas-loving Gaming-PC-Lighting-and-Dishwasher-Pod-Disliking YouTuber found our sets that Vintaglo finally got a stage to the world. This pleasant surprise brought so many like minded people to understand the what and the why we created Vintaglo: To help bring back the traditions of Christmas, with the technology of tomorrow.
